Quick Thoughts: B. K. Borison’s writing is romance personified, the cadence of it all, the effortless charm her stories exude, enough to put any reader under a magic spell. Delilah and Jackson feel like more than a story of love, but of finding your teammate, your best friend, when you least expect it.

Complex Home/Work
Opposites Attract
Two competing meteorologists are forced to find common ground in this opposites attract, When Harry Met Sally inspired romance, from New York Times bestselling author B.K. Borison.
Jackson Clark and Delilah Stewart have had their fair share of run-ins over the years, often ending in disaster. While Jackson thrives on routine and organization from the comfort of his radio booth, Delilah loves the spontaneity and adventure out in the field. When they’re partnered against their will to cover the snowstorm of the century, they find themselves scrambling to figure out how to work together.
Eager to be taken seriously as a journalist, Delilah offers Jackson a deal. If he can help her ace this assignment, she’ll help him rediscover his long-lost fun side. With an undiscovered chemistry burning beneath their clashes, the unlikely partnership quickly tumbles into an easy and surprising friendship.
But when other feelings start to enter the equation, can Jackson and Delilah withstand the storm? Or does what happens in the mountains, stay in the mountains?
My Review
I have been a staunch reader of B. K. Borison’s books since 2023 when I first picked up Lovelight Farms (and have re-read the series many times since, and each new release and series Becs puts out.) When I read First-Time Caller, it awakened an even deeper appreciation for just how skilled of a storyteller B.K. is. I had been counting down the days until And Now, Back To You was in the world, eager to meet Delilah and Jackson more in-depth than their mentions in the first Heartstrings book. Delilah is a ray of sunshine, this bright and deeply-feeling meteorologist at YBAL News, who has her dream job but is stuck with the boss from hell. Then we have organised and logical Jackson, who does the weather at the radio station across the street where we met Aiden last year, who struggles under the pressures of raising his sisters after their mother left him—and them—with ingrained trauma.
When their bosses arrange for them to jointly cover a historic snowstorm heading to Baltimore, Delilah and Jackson aren’t exactly new to the other’s work or ways. Delilah thinks Jackson is too set in his ways and Jackson thinks Delilah is chaotic. But together they have the respect, likeability and talent to take on this challenge, and find themselves doing just that. Only, getting snowed-in at the remote cabin where they’re covering the snowstorm wasn’t in their plan, neither was learning more than their surface-level rivalry, either. Delilah finds herself opening up about her Grandpa’s Alzheimer’s, her mother’s absence and the struggle of being her boss’s running joke. Meanwhile Jackson hasn’t felt like he can talk this freely about his childhood struggles, and how flustered he gets when under pressure, maybe ever. The two of them find common ground in their search to beneficially help the other, the friendship flurrying into something altogether lovelier and profound. Still, what happens in the mountains doesn’t have to stay there, does it? And if they’ve taught each other anything these last couple of weeks, it’s that if the magic of the storm left them with anything, it was the realisation that they hold the reins to their own fate. If their connection is as electric as it feels, these two meteorologists haven’t just tracked a historic blizzard, but have found something as significant as the unprecedented weather they love.
I was deliberately stagnant when I began reading And Now, Back To You, because I knew as soon as I started, I’d never want it to end, and that’s exactly how I feel now, the last page turned and my heart achingly full. B. K. Borison’s writing is romance personified, the cadence of it all, the effortless charm her stories exude, enough to put any reader under a magic spell. Delilah—oh, how I loved her. The tenderness of her heart, the happy effervescence she embodied. Jackson and all his clearheaded focus and want, fitting right into her life like two inverse weather fronts drifting toward each other, looking for a way to finally become one. As in every B. K. book, there’s a multitude of poignant topics within the story, and I love how reflections of family and illness/ill-health heartache show up in this one in particular. Delilah and Jackson feel like more than a story of love, but of finding your teammate, your best friend, when you least expect it. As a Nora Ephron fan, I feel like the When Harry Met Sally dazzle runs through this story fervently. There’s a reason Becs is my favourite author, And Now, Back To You making me fall in love with her stories all over again, just like the first time. A romance born in the heart of a snowstorm, but with the warmth only found in the foundation of Heartstrings. Nothing short of a stunning story from start to finish. (And I adored the Lucie/Aiden/Maya pop-ups!!)
