Important to know:
- If you send me your entire novel in an email without prior consent or ask me to purchase your book (I review books for free – not for profit), unfortunately I can’t reply to you and will forfeit reading your book as this goes against my rules.
- I post my reviews here, Goodreads, Amazon and Waterstones. For American/Canadian novels, I can also post to Barnes & Noble. For books I did not finish (DNF) I will not rate these (aka give them any stars), and simply mark them as such on Goodreads without any rating, and will put that I did not finish it due to whatever circumstances led to that. I rarely DNF books (under ten a year) though, and instead often put them to one side to try another time.
- Answers and replies to emails might take a few days as I’m also just a twenty-something year old girl that splits her time between various avenues. I’m also chronically ill, which means that some days I might not be online to reply. Waiting is usually no more than 48-72 hours. That being said, if you are rude to me during delays, I will decline to reply.
- If there is a specific date you would like the review up for, I can always arrange that. If no date is provided, I will post the review as soon as I have finished the book or near the release date if I can. Sometimes there are delays out of my control, such as mail strikes or project setbacks, but I will always aim to keep my promise to post.
- I am not responsible for any book that gets lost in the mail on either end, but will always help look into it if the book has been lost.
- Requests will NOT be accepted if in self-published form. Unfortunately, I’m unable to accept self-published books at this time. I get a lot of requests for these and sadly, I can’t fulfil them all. If this ever changes, you’ll see it right here. Thanks for understanding. I do still support indie reads, and always will.
- Pretty Little Memoirs does not actively use AI (nor use it even if it’s included with a program or platform) for any purposes to run this blog, and due to the harm AI causes when it steals material from creatives (authors, illustrators, etc) it’s not something I am willing to promote or endorse. Therefore, please do not ask me to review a book with an AI generated cover nor a website/program that relies on AI. Thank you for understanding.
- I will always provide a fair and honest review for any book I read. If I don’t like your book and would rate it less than three stars (two or below) I will not post the review. I would probably have DNF’d the book before it got to that, though. I feel as though making a full review slating a book is not my cup of tea, and I’d rather not spread negativity. Nevertheless, I am always unbiased in my reviews and will rate and review as I feel about the book and how I think others will like it if I feel your book should be avoided for serious reasons.
- I will not accept any monetary compensation for writing a review. Please do not offer to send any money to me as I cannot reply to that – accepting money for a forged, illicit review is unethical and goes against my creative freedom.
