Top Ten Tuesday: Best Movie Adaptations
Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish, where bloggers come up with their TTT Lists on different questions.
This week we’re talking about the best or worst (or best, like my post) movie adaptations! I personally love reading the book before the movie, so this post is so ideal for me to come up with. Onwards!
1. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Some people will beg to differ that this doesn’t belong on the Best list, and more on the Worst one. I completely understand why, because some people had different expectations for the movie from reading the book, and vice versa. I personally loved the book series, though the movies were a little more “intensely dramatic”, I still think it deserves a place.
2. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare {COMING SOON}
YES, it’s not out yet…but from the trailers, the posters, the…everything; everyone knows this is going to be THE BEST movie adaption, right?! I just can’t wait for this one.
3. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margret Stohl
Perfect book, amazing movie. This movie met all my expectations and more. Big love for this one in particular. The cast were picked right, the whole Gatlin details, etc…perfect!
4. Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
This was the first Zombie book I ever read, and I found it really interesting and different to all the other paranormal-type novels, in a good way. The movie was just as amazing, especially picking the right quotes and features from the book.
5. Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire by J K Rowling
This was my favourite book AND movie, and they fitted hand in hand incredibly. Even though it took me forever to read the series, this one stood out in particular and it was the movie I was most enthralled in.
6. The Bling Ring by Nancy Jo Sales {COMING SOON}
This is number 2 adaption that isn’t actually out yet, but aren’t all the best adaptions based on real life events? This book was a real eye-opener and I can’t wait for the film.
7. The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Second hit for Ms. Meyer! I thought the Host was magnificent and truly amazing. I read the book quite a long time before the movie, so it was almost a given for me to pick this up again and read it through again. It was, like Twilight, a more dramatically take on the book, but nevertheless brilliant.
8. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I read book one before the movie and the other two after I had seen the movie, so it was really puzzling to read two quite different aspects. Katniss is described a little differently in the book, but Jennifer takes on her part with flying colours. After I read Catching Fire I can’t wait to see it in theatres soon!
9. Divergent by Veronica Roth {COMING SOON}
I cannot wait for this! For dystopian YA to come to life on the screen with this book is going to be phenomenal. YAY.
10. Delirium by Lauren Oliver {COMING SOON}
I just heard word about this today that the TV Show of Delirium won’t be going forward. I adored this book so much, because, let’s be honest; Lauren Oliver is a genius at writing…anything! Seriously wanted to see this one 🙁
I hope you loved my TTT list, and please do post your links below and tell me what you think of my list and I’ll stop by your posts, too! I also follow back on bloglovin!
happy reading,
xo Becca
I love the Harry Potter series! I completely forgot to add The Hunger Games to mine.
I'm so excited for some of these films coming out!! I totally agree, City of Bones has to be amazing 🙂 Definitely agree with HP and the Hunger Games too – great list! 🙂
My TTT!
The Host made our list as well–loved it! Cannot wait for City of Bones and Divergent. Is Delirium definitely going to be a movie? I've heard conflicting things, but I was really disappointed the pilot wasn't picked up (and I love Emma Roberts and thought she would have been perfect). Great list!
Me too, it was one of my favourite book/movie series! And of course, Hunger Games is brilliant. Thank you so much for stopping by 😀
I am on the edge of my seat waiting for City of Bones…I just love it when there is a book series that is actually made into a really good movie! 🙂 Thank you for stopping by, Hannah 😀
They just cancelled the TV Series/Movie for Delirium, but I'm really hoping they'll make it into something at least! I totally agree with City of Bones and Divergent. I keep seeing all these photos from the movies and trailers that make me want to see it now! Thank you so much for stopping by! 😀
